Description
I was amazed how few endoscope mounts were out there and how few were really good. Endoscopes will help you identify layer issues, print failures and are just plain fun to watch. Please checkout my YouTube video on this Endoscope mount and please subscribe if you enjoy things like this.
This is an endoscope mount for the Ender 3 and similar Creality printers that have the same front fan shroud. This mount does not interfere with the fan and allows air flow through. It mounts to the front which is generally unused space on the Ender 3.
This will print without supports. Just lay it on its side just like the photo. Once you have it printed you will need 1 M3*12 screw as the stock screw you may find is a little short. You should have this spare screw in with your ender spares.
Simply remove the single fan screw, install this mount and attach the endoscope to the mount. It is designed to get tighter as it goes further in so it should support multiple types of endoscopes. They vary widely on amazon. I have tried a few and any that have a 9mm or smaller camera should fit with this mount. I have listed a few versions below. If you check out the video I show you how to hook it up to OctoPrint but you can also use your phone directly or with WiFi.
Cheap one that gets the job done (tested myself): https://amzn.to/2E1yUTY Version I personally use: https://amzn.to/2E05yFy WiFi Camera with much better quality: https://amzn.to/2DXQTL9
Again I think just about any endoscopic camera less than 9mm will work.
The rc.local.txt file is for Octoprint installs, see the youtube video for details.
