Description
Summary Update: After checking the scale it is actually close to 1/10 scale. Maybe a little larger. This is a remix of Ericthepoolboy's working 5 speed transmission for 22re motor. I resized the files to 1/10 sacle to work with my resized 1/10 22RE Toyota motor. Many of the files were changed to accomodate the new hardware. All the hardware used was the same as the 1/10 scale 22RE motor. Almost all parts were printed at .1 resolution. This project will test your printer, modeling skills, and your patience. It was fun. Some of the changes are: No washers are used. Bearings used were 5x2x2.5mm (MR52zz) acquired from Banggood.com The shift collar gear no longer uses set screws. You must assemble the transmission and note the location of the collar gear and glue in place. Gear 1 top laso glues into place on the input shaft. If you can source small set screws i suggest you use a set screw. The shift collar gear 5th also glues in place. Shift forks and collar forks also glue in place after assembly. Top Rail is gears 1-2 collar fork. bottom rail is gears 3-4 collar fork. See picture for instructions. Depending on the rod used you will have to clearance holes. I used 1.5mm and 2mm carbon fiber rods. Shift collars outside surface that contacts the shift forksmneed to be sanded to a smooth finish. You will have to clearance the inside so it slides on the collar gears easily. I lubed all collars and transmission gears with gun grease. If you are going to use my spur gear from the 22RE motor build you will have to shave the bell housing a lot where the pinion goes in or it will rub the bell housing and stop the motor from turning. https://youtu.be/x5OagnD-HUs This is not a easy build. Due to the small size and printer variances you may have to sand, flie, or ream parts for fitment. Entire project can be printed and assembled in 2 days.
