Description
Summary This is an adjustable rebate (rabbet) plane which can use a standard chisel as the cutting iron. (These types of planes are used for cutting a slot along the edge of a board.) The design is based upon Paul Sellers' handmade wooden rebate plane. Instructions for this can be found on his youtube channel, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTuOtmlRhAI Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.30mm Infill: 27% Notes: 3 shells These settings seem like a pretty fair compromise between speed (print still takes several hours), plastic usage, and strength. Custom Section Conclusion I enjoyed the challenge of designing and making this, but after experiencing how long it took to print and how much plastic was used, I think that following Seller's lead and making one out of wood, would be a far better approachr. TODO There are still some problems with this design, mostly the width of the chisel+wedge gap is far too small to fit. :_(
