Vibration isolator/damper

Description

SummaryI needed some way to kill the noise of my extruder stepper motor when it was doing retractions so I came up with this. Before I would not print models that required lots of retractions because it drove me crazy or kept me awake when I was trying to sleep. Now I can't hardly hear the retractions at all and not at all during regular extrusions. My extruder is mounted on top of my enclosure so it was vibrating through the entire box and was really loud. For this application I used the soft version. I also printed some stiffer ones to set my printer on and now it is so quiet I can have it run all night and sleep with no problems. The number in the model name is the height (unloaded) from top surface to bottom. If you need one that is a different height just ask and I will upload one. OR if someone wants to take this idea and make a customizer model that would be cool. I looked at Openscad and no way am I going to type in my model using text. That is modeling from the 70s, although much updated.Print SettingsPrinter: ORD Bot HadronRafts: NoSupports: NoResolution: Up to you, I printed mine at 0.2
