Description
SummarySeeing as nobody else has done this already, I decided that I needed my yeast vials to stand up in the fridge. But since I don't always have six vials on hand, I made an interlocking design as so that they can be printed off as needed :) All work is my own, reference dimensions were taken from White Labs Yeast vials. Please link/credit if you make a derivative. Please note - dimensions may change while I work out the differences in various manufacturer's labeling heights. I believe White Labs prints their culture/product names on a lower point on the label than the Yeast Bay, and the WL bugs (lacto/pedio/brett) are printed differently again :) Edit - I added the V2 versions after noticing a couple small issues, and refining them to use less material. Slimmed the faces down to 5mm thick instead of 10mm, made the holes smaller (I used the wrong measurement off the top of my head!) so that the fit was better, and lowered the support height by 15mm as it was obscuring the product name on the vials. Also widened the mounting holes slightly, and added a couple extra mm wall thickness Edit 2 - Added 1 Vial V3 to address locking issues I had. The shapes I had made didn't quite work together. Attached the Solidworks files for anyone wishing to play with them. I can add other formats i.e. IGES or STP if need be :)Print SettingsRafts: NoSupports: NoResolution: 0.1-0.2mmInfill: 10-20%Notes: Ensure bed is flat and accuracy of print is quite high. Post-PrintingMaybe worth smoothing the outside of the upright supports out for about 15-20mm to ensure a clean entry into holes.InstructionsPrint top and bottom piece with flat sides set as bottom./ Mount together. Pictures coming :)
