Description
I created a front diagram of a human heart with all chambers and veins labeled in braille to the side as a visual aid for visually impaired students who wish to pursue STEM or need help in their science classes. A student should be able to feel the detailings of the heart with their left hand and read the key to the left. Since this design is a thin plate, it can easily be stacked away with other similar models until its next use. This model was created in Solidworks and was printed using a Lulzbot TAZ printer at normal quality with HIPS filament. My school recently switched to using ColorFabb XT as our main printing filament so I would recommend it since this material is much stronger! Printing with a good filament will prevent the braille from breaking off.
