Print-in-Place KILLBOT mini v2.1

Description

Even a vast robot army must begin with one tiny killbot...

Print-in-Place sitting robot with articulated arms, legs and a head you can spin and lift from the bottom!

13 moving parts in total!

  • Head can be spun in place and controlled from between the legs. The head pops down 2mm to reveal the wheel that can turn and sorta bounce it.
  • Arms rotate at the shoulder and above the elbow, and bend 90+ degrees at the elbow.
  • Hands designed to hold on to a standard pencil (7.5mm).
  • Legs bend in three places, very human-like.
  • Hips move up 3mm to lock in standing position, for stability.
  • Love switch stuck in ON position, for safety.
  • Required support is included and minimal.

Please share pictures if you start your own army! :)

And if you have any issues, let me know in the comments, as I did debug this thing for days and I don't think it has any of the obvious issues PIP things sometimes have.

Inspired by the Maker sitting robot as well as other cool PIP toys (links below).

I went thru about 20 designs (~15 printed), testing hinges, joints and their tolerances, and I even tested a few versions where pressing a button/the head lifted the arms 90 degrees... (eventually worked but was too tall and clunky and also disables free rotation of the arms) Please check out versions 14 and 16 (on Thingiverse) to see what I mean and get ideas, I'd love to see this used more appropriately, maybe not in a robot...
