Replicator Front Door Hinge

SummaryThis is a 3D printed hinge for the Makerbot Replicator or clones. It attaches an Acrylic door (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:757385) to the wood frame, as part of an enclosure. It uses existing bolt holes, so you don't need to be drilling anything. It attaches at the top of the frame using the three existing bolt holes. This installation requires three hinges, Three 20mm M3 machine screws (to replace the existing ones with slightly longer ones, six 10mm M3 machines screws and nuts to attach the hinges to the Acrylic panel. It also requires six of the stress reducing washers (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:755320) to reduce possibility of stress crackingInstructionsPrint three of these hinges, with standard settings, and an extra shell. They'll be plenty strong. Laser cut out the door from 3mm acrylic (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:757385) Also print six of the stress reducing M3 washers (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:755320), Add three 20mm M3 machine screws, and six 10mm M3 screws/nuts, three 50mm pieces of 3mm filament (or you can use three 55mm M3 screws for the hinges). Fit to your Replicator with the existing bolt holes at the top. Be sure to not lose the nuts when removing the existing machine screws (use tape to hold the nuts in place on the frame while switching bolts, and installing the hinges. Instal the hinges loose, so they are easier to align, when putting the door on. Insert hinge pins and then tighten everything down. If you need to remove the door for maintenance, it is as easy as sliding the 3mm hinge pins out.
