Raft and Print Removal Fixture

Description

SummaryThe paint scraper supplied with the Up/Afinia is a wonderful, quality, and essential tool, but it's really, really sharp. Sometimes a lot of force must be exerted in removing prints from a build surface or rafts from prints, and one slip can result in truly serious injury. After trying to remove blood from a print for the umpteenth time, I welded this together from some sheet steel and angle iron. The santoprene rubber sheet is attached to the steel with VHB tape. Since it hangs over the front edge of the workbench, you can pretty much push as hard as you like when using the scraper. Ignore the STL file, it's just to overcome Thingiverse's insistence that I include a file that's not an image.InstructionsGet some sheet steel and angle iron and weld it together. Or if you've got a bending brake, make it all from one piece of sheet metal. Cut some rubber sheet and stick it to the metal with VHB tape, contact cement, etc.
