2 table lamps: plain & fancy

Prints (0)

Description

These 2 lamps share the same basic shape; the fancy one has added ribs. The lamp has 2 separate parts: the base and the shade. The base holds the light source which is a standard 68mm/2.75" diameter LED "puck" light that is powered by 3 AAA batteries. I bought 3 of these lights at Lowes for $9.98 batteries included.

Here is a link to the puck light:

PS: you'll see a slight printer error at the top of the ribbed lamp photo; that error was with my printer and is not in the STL file. I'll replace the photo when I make a new print.

I use the same software for all my designs: Rhino + Grasshopper. The actual designs are all made with the Grasshopper add-in; the only thing I use Rhino for is to export the STL files. After I have the STL file from Rhino I run it through 3D Builder to fix any errors (there usually are some) and also to simplify the STL file so the final result is a smaller file for upload/download/printing.
