MAKITA DUST COLLECTOR HOOD FOR 2012 12" PLANER 193036

Description

Wanted to buy a hood for my thickness planer, but I was a little surprised about the price, an another problem was that my planer is directed another way so the hood exit was in the front of my machine.

So I designed a hood that perfectly fit on your planer for a fraction of the price.

Important!! The STL files are drawn the same way as the original Makita hood, if you like the exit to point the other way than you have to flip it in your slicer.

My Prusa's bed is to small to print it in 1 piece so I sliced it in 2 parts and printed it UP in the air (see pic) This gives also a very smooth inside.

After printing I cleaned it with some sand paper and glued it with fast glue and clamped it. After drying I used my 3D-Pen to "weld" over the seam. I use this method very often and it makes it very strong, I use regular PLA but put the pen on ABS, then you push the nozzle in the seam and slowly fill it with filament. After the welding I sand everything till it's very smooth. After that I use acetone to make it even smoother.

I also made an elbow that fits perfect on the hood, to prevent the elbow from falling of I made a small rim in the elbow. When you mount the elbow let the exit point the other direction as it has to be, then drill a small hole 2.5mm and put in a screw with a head of about 4mm. urn the elbow now freely and it won't come off.

This was a lot of work I hope you people understand and I would be happy with a small donation to make more of these things in the future and save your people a lot of money.

People who donate can always ask for modifications or additional "things" for this product.
