Description

The idea for this container came from a forum posting I saw where someone wanted to know how to create a surface with this design. I made it by intersecting a circular array of slim rectangles with a circular array of small spheres. The rectangles are 0.7 mm thick, and there are 600 of them. The spheres are 7.0 mm in diameter and there are 391 of them. If you look carefully you'll see that the spheres for a hexagonal grid around the surface of the cylinder.

The container really should have a top, but I have yet to figured out how to design one that is printable. I'll add the top to this post if/when I get it done.

The container printed in a little more than 18 1/2 hours using a print speed of 80 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.200 mm.

Edit 1 day later: I just couldn't help myself, so I made a top for the container. It prints ins 2 1/4 hours using the same settings mentioned above.
