The Twelfth Doctor's confession dial based on the production art, onscreen prop and commercial prop featured in the Doctor Who series 9, episode 1: "The Magician's Apprentice" and series 9, episode 12: "Hell Bent". It is referred to as the last will and testament of a Time Lord. https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Confession_dial
This is a detailed opening version of the prop that can be used for display. A simpler, more robust closed-only version for display or cosplay is available here: https://pinshape.com/items/61087-3d-printed-doctor-who-confession-dial-closed
All parts are pre-orientated for printing and some require supports. Print with at least 0.12mm layer height.
The base is printed upside down and the internal cavity requires supports. Fit all internal rings before fitting the brim. Three small registration pins are needed to align the brim with the base before gluing.
The internal orb is best printed vertically, angled for supports to retain all the detail. I recommend fitting the orb as the last step once you are satisfied with the finish.
There are three tops that can be alternated to show the different states of the opening confession dial. Stage 1 - closed, Stage 2 - slightly open, Stage 3 - more noticeably open. Stage 4 is fully open when all tops are removed. Only one top can be fitted at a time.
Sanding all parts and other post-processing is highly recommended on all parts before fitting to enhance details.
Includes a printable stand.
An interesting observation for you about the prop: I used artwork and video screenshots to design the confession dial. It was first shown in series 9, episode 1: "The Magician's Apprentice" in its slightly opened form. At that point in the show the confession dial could not be opened until the Doctor had died. The production art and the commercial prop, which this model is based on, depict the inside of the confession dial differently to the way it was actually shown when open in series 9, episode 12: "Hell Bent". In fact the confession dial was only ever shown closing, never opening.
