Description
SummaryAll the spool stands I could find here cater for the ever popular 608 bearings. I had a hand full of 6000RS bearings just begging to be put to use, hence my contribution to the ever growing pool of spool stand thingies :) By no means unique this thingy borrows from some of the existing designs around. I wanted it as simple as possible, using the least amount of additional hardware, so you'll only require the following: 4 off M6x30 hex head bolts and nuts (I used some nylon bolts I had) 4 off 6000RS bearings - 26mm OD x 10mm ID x 8mm wide 2 prints each of the Spool Stand Outer and Inner stl's Assembly is straight forward (I would hope :-P ). Any bearing with a 10mm ID will also work, as long as the OD is not much more than 26mm (could be less) as you need some depth for your spool flange to prevent your spool climbing out and wandering off. The current setup has 7mm depth which I have found ample. If your bearing is narrower than 7mm you may need to trim the centre bearing carriers/posts that are inserted either end of the bearing, as I designed it with 1mm internal clearance on an 8mm wide bearing. The small inner flanges allows enough clearance between the bearing and the sides but is also small enough to prevent any possibility of your filament wedging in where it is not supposed to. It also serves as the seating area for the bearing inner race. Please share if you do print :-)Print SettingsPrinter Brand: RepRapPrinter: Prusa i3Rafts: Doesn't MatterSupports: NoResolution: 0.2Infill: 25%Notes: I opted for a shell thickness of 1mm. A lower infill may also work but I wanted the stand fairly rigid. How I Designed ThisModeled from scratch in 123D Design
