Description
This desktop model of a Carbon Arc Searchlight was based on the 80 inch Carbon Arc searchlight built in 1903 by GE. This model is massive. The Searchlight body is 80mm deep by 157.5mm across. When fully assembled the model is 210mm tall with functioning pivot for aiming the light output. This Model can be printed on any 3D printer with a 200mm x 200mm x 150 mm print envelope and has been optimized to ensure each part requires minimal or no support when oriented correctly on the bed. In the design phase, we focused on creating a usable and highly printable model that would be hardware free (lighting components excluded) so aside from some light gluing, you shouldn't need anything else to assemble your model. The included instructions also contain links to the LED components we sourced through Amazon
Please see the attached instruction sheet before printing. The material we used to create the clear lens came from Hobby Lobby but is widely available in most areas.
Also please don't try to print Carbon Arc Searchlight assembly B.stl. This file is included so that you can see assembled model in the 3D viewer.
The main light body and top plate have our logo on them. If you prefer to print your Desktop Carbon Arc Searchlight without our logo, or would like to print the top plate and support arms as one piece, please check our other pinshape designs. You can purchase each component for logo free prints while helping to support our most excellent host, Pinshape!
