I think this is better suited for an SLS printer where the powder acts as a natural support material. You're right, FDM would be basically impossible. Maybe with some water soluble filament as support material.

what does the Arabic patterns have to do with Islam ....? Some Arabs are Christians and others are Jews, tradition has nothing to do with religious tolerance. If you said decorate the ball with Qur'anic verses, I would understand.
