Summary I made this knob after my last attempt to make a Hurst Shifter styled knob. It wasn't actually very comfortable so I made this one. I always liked how Ken Block had that vertical lever for his E-Brake in his Gymkhana videos so that's how I decided on a vertical knob. I have one in my Mustang, with the nut epoxied into the recession, not being held by screws like this current model is, but it's holding up fine. Only had it in there a week though. Please print and let me know if you have ideas to make it even better! Print Settings Rafts: NoSupports: NoResolution: Doesn't really matterInfill: The higher the infill the better Notes: For the main piece, it really should be printed with it's long axis parallel to the print bed, that when when you shift the force is perpendicular to the layers. If the force is parallel to the layers, there's a very good chance it'll break. The pistol grip has two files, I made mine in NinjaFlex so without the rib I added it was rocking back and forth as the toolhead moved over it and had a pretty bad surface finish. I included one without the rib in case you want to do it in hard plastic. I printed it without supports and it came out fine. Post-Printing If you print the pistol grip with the rib, you're gonna wanna use a really sharp exacto knife to slice it off. Kinda hard to get in there but it's certainly do able. Slide a M12-1.25 nut into the large hole at the bottom of the main piece and screw the small bottom piece on with two nuts that can be found here (http://www.mcmaster.com/#96068a159/=z5k6ad). You don't have to use those, if you do it with ABS I included one without the holes and you could probably acetone weld them together. Then, with your empty shift lever, thread a second M12-1.25 (preferably with a nylon lock) to the bottom of the threads, then screw the knob all the way down and line it up so it's comfortable to shift with, and tighten the lower nut up against the knob to lock it in place.
