Description

The Antares propeller guard protects your props and motors during hard landings and crashes. The prop guards and landing gear stabilize the small drones for smooth flight and fun times. The prop guard clips on to the quadcopter without the need for glue or tape. Each of the 4 landing legs snap easily into the frame. When it is in flight it is reminicent of a Lunar Module so I named it after the Apollo 14 Lunar Module (LM) "Antares".

Compared to the body of the copter this adds quite a bit of plastic, does it inhibit the flight at all?

I found that the extra weight really increases the stability. I can fly it with one hand and film with my iphone in the other hand.

I just ordered one of these for my new Proto X. :D Can't wait till it arrives, I've already crashed the thing too much, and I don't want to break it before this guard arrives. heh Also, I wont get my hopes up, but any improvements to stability would be very nice.. The Proto X is rather stable on it's own, but it's very twitchy.. heh Hopefully widening and lowering the center-of-mass, with this guard, helps. I'll report back after it arrives. ;D EDIT: After having it for a while now: I've found that the legs are a bit too heavy, they run the battery down faster. but without the legs, it's perfect, it does a great job at protecting the blades, in most situations. And the extra weight seems to make it just a little more sluggish, which seems to help a noob-learner get started, as these things are really twitchy and fast normally. Note: Obviously it can't do any flip maneuvers with this attached. Even just the top part, it adds too much weight. :/ oh well.
