Bring the characters of your imagination to life with our Character Design Contest! Create a 3D model of an original character, human or non-human, and give your character a name and story. All entries will be entered to win a Formlabs Form 2 3D Printer and a cartridge of new Grey resin which has a beautiful matte finish, as seen in the image above! BONUS: If you post a link to your design on social media and tag @pinshape & @formlabs, you’ll be entered to win a free SLA print of your design from Formlabs.

Contest Rules

  • Contest closes on March 1, 2017 at 23:59:59 PST
  • Entries cannot have been previously submitted to a Pinshape contest.
  • Entries must comply with Pinshape’s content policy.
  • Entrants must be registered with Pinshape to enter.
  • There is no fee to enter the challenge.
  • Designs must be original works and not remixes of someone else's designs.
  • This contest is open internationally.

Judging Criteria

  • Technical excellence and ease of printing (30 points)
  • Background story and design documentation (10 points)
  • Design creativity and uniqueness (40 points)
  • Presentation: Image quality, print settings, assembly instructions (if required) (20 points)

Please note - having your model 3D printed does help illustrate ease of printing and image quality.

If you are a 3D designer who doesn't have access to a 3D printer, please use this thread in our forums to reach out to a maker in the community who can print your design for you!
