A must have printer!

The Da Vinci 1.1 Plus from XYZPrinting is just fantastic. It's a really plug and play printer, very easy and confortable to use. Also even if its filament system is proprietary, it's possible to open the cartridge system in order to use the printer with any other filaments in the market: PETG, ABS+ etc.. Also the spare parts are easily changeable and available from many resellers. In addition, the various connectivities available such as USB port, USB stick, Ethernet and Wifi makes it easily connectable. This printer is also equipped of a camera a very handy way to control the printer by distance. I really recommend this printer to everyone.

Terrible printer and worse customer service

this printer continually broke down,  first time being after a week.

The customer support is terrible.  You may or not get an answer from the same bolshy person in holland who is really trying to be unhelpful. After the 5 th breakdown I eventually returned it for a refund to ebuyer.

Would not use xyz again ever.

Easy Printer

This printer is easy to use and works well.  Have had no problems with it so far.  Print cartridges that must be used increase the price of printing but work well.  Since the printer was cheaper, I guess it evens out.

Da Vinci Pro 1.o

Pretty much worked out of the box.  A little trouble and time to level the print bed but once done, worked great.  Easy to use.

Would Not Buy Again

This printer was a good starter 3D Printer for me to get into the technology quickly. I bought it over a year ago for an Architectural model printer. It was a good price and recommended as I needed a RTR unit not a kit. I had to get it up and running after purchasing within hours, rather than days. So in that sense, it was good and easy to quickly learn the basics. Now I design and print my own creations and it is EXTREMELY limited with what it can do/handle. The propriety software has limited settings. You cannot change any temp or slice settings. The proprietary filament is pricey compared to the higher quality 1KG spools you can buy from others online. Moving on, I will not be looking at getting another XYZ printer.

Not really bad from box.

The printer I bought is not new.

In principle, the print was not very good - the lack of settings in the XYZ slicer affected it. The design of the feeder and extruder is very proprietary and could not satisfy my needs. The printer did not want to accept other filaments. I think it’s not worth mentioning the proprietary filament, it is good but not cheap at all.

In general, I designed and printed a new carriage for the BMG Aero all metal and Volcano, replaced the board with the MKS GenL and handed over the control to Octoprint. I changed the heating bed to silicone and borosilicate glass (in the original, too, borosilicate glass but a thinner and 12 volt copper heater).

After such a rebuild, the printer quietly prints with the entire range of filament except high-temperature (well, I haven’t tried it with nylon yet).

And now I am completely satisfied although from the original crafts from XYZ there was only a neat and nice appearance and some mechanical components.

In my plans are blower for the print zone to improve PLA printing, a  405nm laser to expose the film photoresist.  Maybe quiet drivers, but this is not important for me.

This is a “dummy” printer that can be converted to a normal full-featured device.. So i did not recommend this printer  without rebuilding  the extruder and control board.

All stars is for original (like new from box) printer.
