Very good 3DPrinter

I own other printers, specially Repraps based ones and also know many other comercial brands. Makerbot Replicator 2 is very easy to use and has good reliability. The cons is the software (and proprietary printer file) and do not permit conncet to printers softwares via usb. It prints only from SD Card. I would appreciate to use it directly from the Simplify3D software. But, the prints are very precise. I use many brands of PLA.

Needs mods, with the mods, you're golden

added heated bed, alu arms, alu crriage, fila monitor, bigger power supply and of course Sailfish .

Great community in Google groups.

With the mods, it's one of easiest going, stable machines I've worked with.

I can just turn it on, pre heat and build. Almost no fails.

With the great GPX conversion tooling I can utilise any slicer, currently using Simplify3D.

The Replicator 2

While I do not personally own the printer I have had the chance to use it and I think it is a really good printer. I have had several failed prints and it seems the slicer is a little iffy sometimes but it is incredibly easy to start printing and the adhesion to the build plate is incredible. But the raft is really hard to get off and it is quite expensive. Overall if you are willing to spend the money on the printer I would recommend it.

All is good and I would buy another one should the need arise,

I really like this printer, it is not a thousand-dollar unit but it works very well for a $359.00 printer.

Easy to use, and I am getting better with it now that I have had it for just less than a month.

Get User friendly printer

A little rough but a great printer for younger students and beginners.   I have had this printer for three years and use it non stop in a classroom situation.  I have no issues with it.   If the print does not come out it is usually a design flaw in the program or not turning on supports when they should be on.

Love It

The layers on the printer aren't as big as other printers layers.

It is a good printer, very famous but expensive

I hame small designs like jewellery stuffs, so it has limits on that.

But as a whole I'm satisfied.

Trades bed space for high speed capabilities.

The rep2 is able to turn out decent FDM prints fast. The only issue I have is many large models don't fit the narrow side of the bed. I have to strategize STL cuts more when designing for this printer. SD requirements for this printer are a pain, but it's a one time issue.
