If you are a non-EU national, you may need a UK residence card in order to prove your right to live and work in the UK. A UK residence card is also known as a 'biometric residence permit' (BRP). If you are eligible for a UK residence card, you will need to apply for one before you travel to the UK. You will need to provide your biometric information (fingerprints and a photo) as part of your application.
