Spring 2011 rekhakrishnamurthy.com Brisbane is experiencing spring, which means festivals, fireworks, fashion, fiestas, and lots of fun! Make sure to complement your spring looks with the latest rekhakrishnamurthy.com trends. Bright and playful makeup is back! Here are the top make-up trends of Spring 2011. Be careful not to try too many of these look at once. Keep in mind the golden rule of makeup: focus on the eyes and not the lips at the same time. Otherwise, it can look too overdone (images of me at school formal come to mind - Scary!). You can create amazing looks with subtle bursts in colours - plan first and then have fun! You can! Fuchsia CheeksFuchsia, vibrant pinks and fuchsia will make you shine this spring! Napoleon colour disc in Fuchsia is great for achieving the flushed, fresh look. You should only use very little of the pigment as it is very powerful so that you can achieve a flushed look. Start at the edges of your nose, and work your way up to the tops of your cheekbones. To highlight your cheekbones, add a sand-beige sparkle dust. Fuchsia cheeks are beautiful and brighten up during the day. Finish your look with a light foundation, concealer and mascara. Maybelline's Baby Lips Repairing Lip Balm is available in a tinted color. This was a bargain! It cost less than $5.00 at the supermarket. It's an amazing way to get rid of fine lines and discoloration. Smokey Eyes with a Pastel TwistMake your eyes smoldering with a hint of sparkle. The popularity of smokey eyes makeup is not going away even in spring. It's not surprising that this look is so popular, especially as it's glamorous, versatile and suitable for nightwear. For spring, I add a pastel-coloured shimmer to brighten dark eyes. Blend this shimmer under the eye. To brighten, you can also add a small amount of white shimmer to the inner corner. To finish the eyes, add mascara, liner and individual falselashes. Use a lightly tinted pink/beige color lipstick or gloss to keep your lips natural. This look can also be achieved with a tinted lip balm. Colored eye linersElectric coloured eyeliners that make your eyes pop! The right eyeliner can enhance the natural beauty of your eyes. For brown eyes, I recommend bright purple eyeliner, while for green eyes I suggest taupe and deep green. And for electric blue eyes, I recommend electric blue. To soften the look and create a monochrome effect, use a matching eye shadow to cover the outer rim. This look is best suited for flawless skin so make sure you use a high quality foundation (my favourite is Napoleon) as well as a neutral lipstick. Brighten your lipsCoral colors are the color of the season. Bold, bold lips are very trendy and can be updated easily in any season. Miranda Kerr wore this chic look at the David Jones Spring/Summer 2011 Season Launch. You can try juicy orange lips, or go for softer peachy/Coral colors. You can try matt, juicy red or candy pink lips. (Think about a bowl of fresh fruit punch! These colors make a bold statement and are sure to turn heads. You can try pastel pink lipstick colors (Cupcake frosting and Nicki Minaj are two examples). To feel confident, I recommend choosing a color that flatters your skin tone and facial features. If you are going for bold lips, it is important to keep the rest look natural. I use foundation to create a flawless look. Use a black mascara to emphasize the eyelashes. You can keep the rest of your eyes natural too. A white shimmer dust will brighten the eyes and then you can add a color to the crease. Keep the eyeliner to a minimum - I recommend that you use a Sephora product in Noir Black for the top lid. This liquid liner is my favorite because it uses a very thin brush rekhakrishnamurthy.com that makes it easy to draw a thin line.
