The extruder motor is not positioned very well on the CR-10. It is too close to the Z axis threaded rod and many people end up printing a filament guide.
I wanted better access to the whole extruder and easier filament changing.
This plate offsets the Nema motor and the extruder mechanism. I can now see and get to the whole extruder without fiddling around the side of the printer. You can also pre-assemble an extruder off of the printer if you wish.
I've been using this adapter for the past few months with no issues of any kind. It also allows for a neat place to attach the cable. You will need some M3 screws to attach the adapter and the Nema motor.
