Summary Custom design of a smaller more modern version of Opossums http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1639224 I loved the original design but didn't like the way it printed. I had a set of LED Strips from Costco I've been needing a place for, and wanted to design/print something similar and a bit more modern, and make it a simple print and not as big. The sections and feet are modular, and the connector pocket and wire chase may work with other kits similar to the one I used, but I haven't done any research to verify. The connections are a tad loose, rather than tight like other designs, but I didn't want any fitting issues if the print got a bit wobbly at the top. I'm using a slurry to weld them together so it fills any gaps regardless, and sanding everything down in the end for the cleanest finish possible. I printed with a glow in the dark abs for an added touch. Unfortunately I still have 4 sections to print to complete the actual build, but all pieces print and fit together with ease so far. Hoping to have it all printed and complete over the weekend Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3 Infill: 15% Notes: Each section prints in approx 3 hrs, each foot approx 4.5. All depending on your settings. 12 sections and 2 feet and a 6 foot strip of LEDs and good to go! I plan to sand finish so chose .3 for faster printing as I won't print if I'm not around to keep an eye on it.
