Ormerod 2 tr8 DirectDrive Z Axis Redesign
Free

I wanted to upgrade my Ormerod 2's Z Axis to a direct drive tr8 leadscrew, but the original position of the Z motor and the Z nut trap would not work.  So I rebuilt the elements in question to shift the motor away from the upright.  The nuttrap also received a substantial redesign, maintaining the original footprint but otherwise it is very different.

-v2 files are updated to move the leadscrew a little further out to provide additional clearance for the IR board.  The lower Z brace and mount move outward by 5mm while the nut trap moves out by 2mm.  I had noted in my installation that the nut trap was inset from where it should have been, hence why I only moved it out another 2mm.  If more is needed, the nut trap can be shimmed off the X motor mount.
