Pentane, C5H12, is a straight chain of five carbons wrapped in twelve hydrogens: 17 atoms held together by 16 single bonds, no rings, no double bonds and no stereocentres. Every carbon is sp3.
This is a ball-and-stick print where each sphere has its element symbol engraved into the surface, so carbon and hydrogen are easy to tell apart without any painting.
Printing notes: the STL is exported in angstrom units, so scale it up in your slicer or it comes out tiny. PLA on any FDM printer works fine. Add small supports under the bonds and the lower spheres; a fine layer height keeps the engraved letters crisp.
Fun pairing: isopentane from the same collection has exactly the same atoms, arranged as a branched chain.
Atom positions come from a computed conformer. Shared under CC BY-SA, made by MolGod.
