Description
Instead of mounting your filament spool on top of your direct drive 3D printer, you want to put it next to it and feed it sideways? I had that problem and developed a customizable 3D printed filament guide with pulley.
Simply mounted on the top crossbeam and the filament is safely and reliably redirected to your 3D printer. The large pulley ensures that even brittle filaments are not bent too much.
The project features 20 various STL models of 3D printed arms - to mount the pulley in the height and depth you need - to fit a lot of different 3D printers.
Beside that, two variants for the filament feed are included, Variant A: simple redirection of filament or Variant B: the filament is delivered via a PTFE tube.
For detail print and assembly instructions check out the instructions on my website: Assembly instructions of the DIY filament guide with pulley
3D print settings:
For the Arm: Layer height 0.2 mm and 20% infill (rectangular)
All other parts: Layer height 0.2 mm and 100% infill (rectangular)
Total printing time is about 4 hours, approx. 46 g of filament is printed.
The largest 3D printed part of this project (002600-Arm_H140_D70) requires a base of 170 x 85 mm. Any 3D printer with a build space (X, Y) of at least 170 x 170 mm is suitable.
