Pinshape Maker Faire 2014 Recap

Pinshape Maker Faire 2014 Recap

This past weekend, the Pinshape crew headed to our very first Maker Faire! We were one of the Startup Sponsors, and had a nice little booth in the Startup Pavilion, giving us a chance to meet a lot of you guys, and we loved every minute of it!

We setup our booth to show off what we are working on here at Pinshape, while highlighting some of the great designs our design community has produced. Thanks to our friends at Type A Machines, we had a printer on site, creating great shapes for everyone to see. We also gave everyone at the Faire a chance to enter our 3D printer giveaway.

It was so nice to be able to meet you, the makers, face to face. From the hardcore, long time 3D printing enthusiasts with a great perspective on the industry, to the wide-eyed new comer just seeing a 3D printer in action for the first time, every person we were able to talk to was helpful. We got a ton of great feedback from our conversations, and we’ll be taking a lot of your ideas back to the team to see how we can continue building and improving the experience for you all on pinshape.

The one commonality everyone we met had was that they were genuinely happy to be there, and there was an enthusiastic buzz surrounding the whole event.  It feels great to be part of a giant community of Makers, because it is exactly that passion that drives us to do what we are doing everyday, and helps us push forward to make 3D printing more accessible and easier to understand than ever before.

At the end of the weekend, we had a tired, but happy team, so thanks for coming out to meet us and helping turn our first Maker Faire into a big success!
