Announcing The Character Design Contest Winners!

Our Character Design Contest was the most competitive yet and our judges had a very difficult time choosing the winners. To narrow the entries down to even the top 10 finalists proved a daunting task. Special thanks to our judges for taking the time to judge the winners and to our sponsors, Formlabs, Wacom, and ZBrush! Without further ado, here are some of our favourites from the contest and the top three winners.

Honourable Mentions

The Guardian by markochulev

Markochulev did an excellent job with the design and presentation of The Guardian. His design was printed on the Formlabs Form 2 and finished with a bit of grey primer.

Al De Capode aka “Le tourteau ninja” by Charles-Victorien Kaing

This character was a personal favorite of mine. Charles’ excellent presentation, full color renders, and assembly instructions made this one of our top contenders.

NOOT by chris_nix

Chris_nix is a professional character artist and this shows through his NOOT design. He printed it in Formlabs’ Grey V3 resin and included a few excellent full color renders with the design.

3rd Place

Chrustian Seabourne by Braddock

We were blown away by this design by Braddock and used it for last week’s featured designs header. This has been split into multiple parts for optimal printing and assembly and has won Braddock both a Wacom Intuos 3D Package with ZBrush Core.

2nd Place

Titania by Baushkin

Baushkin has won second place in our Character Modeling Contest with this incredible Titania design! This was printed using SLA and has won Baushkin a Wacom Intuos Pro and full ZBrush license

1st Place

Clementine by gokcen_yuksek

Clementine comes with a number of different variations and can be assembled in whatever configuration you’d like. With excellent presentation and a full-color painted print, Gokcen has won first prize in our Character Modeling Contest and a Formlabs Form 2 3D Printer Package!

This was our most competitive contest by a sizable margin and most all of the entrants did an excellent job. We’ve more exciting contests coming up and a newly launched MakerGeeks Print Contest where you can win Crystal Series PLA filament.
