R1+ is OK

I think they've stopped making these but if you run across a secondhand one it's an OK printer.

Pros:

I like that it has a (heated) glass bed.

It prints reasonably well.

It looks decent

It has two vertical stepper motors and automatically levels it's bed before each print with a nine point scan. The bed isn't leveled, I'm sure it uses the points to adjust the nozzle height if needed.

Cons/ oddities:

It needs to be directly connected to a computer to print, there is no screen. I think there's an option to upload and disconnect but I haven't bothered/ figured it out. I think I've seen a build on thingiverse where they've added a screen.

It uses it's own software to print, but it gives most options you could think of. I've seen a tutorial to use cura on it but didn't think it was worth my time.

It's not that common of a printer so I think other printers would have more creator community projects. But I've printed a cable chain for it and I've seen printable enclosures and other things.

Overall it's decent. It gave me less trouble then my monoprice select mini
